Lara Dorling is a German and Australian interdisciplinary, mainly body-based, improvisational artist based in Boorloo/Perth. She has a creative practice that sits within the intersections of dancing, writing, sounding and voicing. Through this, Lara uses voice and text to see how they can become an extension of the body, and vice versa, constantly exploring her range and curiosity in more embodied, live performance settings. Lara has performed in 600 Seconds presented by STRUT and The Blue Room Theatre, Melville Midwinter, Outcome Unknown, pvi’s KISS Club, WWIM, and uses improvisation as performance as a way to engage her local community through Make-Shift Evenings. She is in a phase of developing her practice to create a livestream work using motion capture technology.
