• Yoe

A grassroots organiser, rapper and cultural worker from Burma.

supported by

Tone List, The Blue Room Theatre and STRUT Dance.

Yoe came in raw with his first underground hip-hop drop in the early 2010s, straight outta the westside Uppertown of Yangon. Back then, he rocked the mic as Young Light (Lig) and put out tracks under Light Music, making waves in the scene. But his impact didn’t stop at music. He co-founded the 44 (For The Hood, For The People) grassroots collective, driving mutual aid and community empowerment. Over time, he doubled down on elevating the arts and cultural landscape, committing himself to its growth. To this day, he stays deep in the game—working as an arts and culture professional while keeping his fire for social and cultural activism burning strong.
