Casey Moir is an Australian born, Swedish based vocal-artist, improviser, and composer of experimental music. Versed in the multifaceted voice, she dives into this realm with both thoughtful precision and wild abandon. Listening keenly, she navigates an entangled web of choices, impulses, sounds, consonants, vowels, and vocal explorations in time and space. Attuned to the ebb and flow of the moment, the voice is revealed. Raw. Intricate. Brazen. Unfettered. Inquisitive. Subtle. Playful, yet serious.

Casey has a Bachelor of Improvisation (2011) and a Master of Experimental Composition (2021) from the Academy of Music and Drama, Gothenburg, Sweden. She is founding member of the experimental 5-piece Viva Vocal Ensemble, performs regularly with her solo project, improvisational duo Moir/Coudoux (SE/DE), 13-piece ensemble Été Large (DE/FR/SE), and trio 3Grams (DE/SE).

Working both in the field of improvisation and experimental music, she has performed at festivals such as CTM Berlin (DE), Now Now Festival (AU), SoundOut (AU), J.O.E. Festival (DE), Sound of Stockholm Festival (SE) and more. She has composed works for contemporary ensembles such as Curious Chamber Players, and performed new works of living composers, such as Israel Martinez (MX), Christian Kesten (DE) Arvid Kraft (SE) and Catharina Backman (SE). She collaborates often in short-term projects, including City Composing with contemporary ensemble Mimitabu (SE), interdisciplinary music and video art project UnStumm (DE/SE), and with the Gothenburg Dance Company in their multi-space installation performance Surburbia 37° under the leadership of choreographer Pedro Goucha Gomes.
